Supervision and Training for Professionals

Supervision

HumanKind can offer individual or group supervision for counsellors, therapists, care professionals and mental health workers.

In supervision, our intention is to co-create a safe space for practitioners to find what they need to support them in working as effectively as possible. We  believe that supervision has a normative, formative and restorative function (Inskipp and Proctor, 1995) and as such can be reflective, creative and fun. We are particularly interested in exploring therapist/client process and encouraging presence through reflection and creativity.

Jenny Thompson is a UKCP registered supervisor with twenty-five years experience supervising counsellors, psychotherapists, mental health professionals as well as other practitioners in the caring professions and the voluntary sector.

Karen qualified as a Creative Clinical Supervisor in 2021 having completed training with Relight, Bristol. She offers an approach based on the 7-Eyed Model created by Hawkins and Shohet and is trained in the use of creativity in the supervision space. This may include working with props, story, imagery and the body to explore the supervisees' questions.

Training for Professionals

HumanKind can offer bespoke groupwork and training for professionals. Many of our public workshops are suitable for professionals and non-professionals alike. However, we recognise that those in the caring professions face particular challenges and may benefit from input on presence, mindfulness, self-compassion and mental health awareness. We can offer bespoke courses on any of the above.

Please Contact Us if you want to discuss bespoke training for you or your organisation.
